made. kitchen for a warrandyte home
This project showcases a renovated family home that worked with the natural exterior elements of its surrounds to create a warm, light-filled, inviting and functional kitchen-dining area.
Set on a beautiful bush block in Warrandyte, this project was a balancing act of contrasting materials, textures and proportions that utilised subtle colourways such as grey benchtops with pale laminate cabinets. These hues were contrasted in dramatic fashion against the rawness of the pre-existing exposed brick in this 70s-built home.
The owners wanted ‘wow factor’ within their kitchen living area, making the most of the narrow space, retaining key features to create efficient storage to suit the original design and materials.
The home features kitchen design elements of floating wall-mounted cabinets as an alternative to overhead cupboards to work best within the narrow space. A lone green interchangeable door front creates an injection of colour – further supporting the lush green environment within which the house is set.
The wide benchtop creates a larger work area, and efficient intelligent storage on either side creates a seamless link between the kitchen and dining areas.
Other features include Corian thin-line benchtop in muted Earth, and the made. Manhattan Range kitchen-cabinetry in Savannah Acacia with solid beech interior organizational systems.
